چکیده

We tested the effects of various policy rules on retailer behavior in laboratory experiments conducted at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. Our experimental designmodels themultifaceted contemporary market for consumer computer products and is quite complex, but we found that participants can make effective decisions and that their behavior is sensitive to variations in policies. Based on our results, Hewlett-Packard changed its policies; for example, it made the consequences for violations forward looking as well as backward looking. This line of research appears promising for complex industrial environments. (Industries: computer-electronic. Economics: experimental.)

Coordination of Pricing, Ordering, and Lead time Decisions in a Manufacturing Supply Chain

In this paper, an incentive policy is proposed to coordinate ordering, lead time, and pricing strategies in a two-echelon manufacturing supply chain (SC) consisting of one manufacturer and one retailer. The system is faced with a stochastic demand which depends on both price and lead time. The manufacturer decides on production size and manufacturing acceleration rate while the retailer determi...

Optimal Manufacturer-Retailer Policies in a Supply Chain with Defective Product and Price Dependent Demand

This study deals with a two-level supply chain consisting of one manufacturer and one retailer. We consider an integrated production inventory system where the manufacturer processes raw materials in order to deliver finished product with imperfect quality to the retailer, where number of defective product has a uniform distribution. The retailer receives product and conducts a 100% inspection....

Supply Chain Coordination using Different Modes of Transportation Considering Stochastic Price-Dependent Demand and Periodic Review Replenishment Policy

In this paper, an incentive scheme based on crashing lead time is proposed to coordinate a supplier-retailer supply chain (SC). In the investigated SC, the supplier applies a lot-for-lot replenishment policy to replenish its stock and determines the replenishment multiplier. Moreover, the transportation lead time is considered under the control of the supplier. The retailer as downstream member...

Simultaneous coordination of review period and order-up-to-level in a manufacturer-retailer chain

In this article, manufacturer-retailer supply chain coordination (SCC) has been developed under periodic review inventory system. In the studied model, the retailer as downstream member uses periodic review inventory policy and decides about review period (T) and order-up-to-level (R). Also, the manufacturer as upstream member faces EPQ system and determines the number of shipments from manufac...
